Writing and receiving letters is a form of relationship that is almost entirely lost nowadays, yet it is a long-lasting tangible testimony to relationships. The letters are also an evidence of the time one person devotes to another.
The artwork is part of the series Amalgams of Time. Story of past events, which through memories and inherited memories have shaped the viewpoints and values of the next generations. The painting reminds of war-time letters, that could bring either relief or despair, and the feeling of apprehension before opening it.
