The colours in winter become subdued and the landscape becomes almost graphical. Dry hogweed flowers make wonderful snow-catchers in a snowy winter. Snow becomes part of the flower itself and being puffy and almost warm-looking, it shows the stems in their fragility and contrasts their thinness.
