An amaryllis, a real or imaginary one, projected on the background of deep blue Portuguese azulejos. In spots that are touched by light, opacity increases, but in the shadows it becomes transparent. The flower sheds light, but the wall almost absorbs it, making them a true match for each other. The blue tiles in the artwork are varnished, so this part of the artwork actually reflects light as well.
